The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) on Friday (June 12) announced the restoration of normal bus services from June 15, after the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) decided to lift the night curfew curfew from Monday.

The CCSA made the decision at its meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, on Friday. However, the state of emergency will continue.

Surachai Iamwachirasakul, the director of BMTA, said that the number of daily passengers are expected to increase to 650,000. The BMTA will run 3,000 buses, a total of 25,000 trips a day, to serve those increased passengers, he said.

Covid-19 prevention measures, such as wearing masks and social distancing, will be continue to be enforced among both BMTA staff and passengers, he added.
