‘Lonely’ boar goes on rampage, tries to ‘eat’ owner’s car

A wild boar adopted by a Kamphaeng Phet resident four years ago went berserk on Monday (June 15), wrecking its owner’s car and “killing” everything else that came within its path.

Boonsong Phrompitak, 63, called on rescue volunteers at around 10.30am when his pet boar tried to attack him and “eat” his car.

Meanwhile, the 10 volunteers who showed up to help, finally managed to grab the boar after 40 minutes of coaxing, though the animal squealed loud enough to scare the entire village.

The owner said the animal had had such tantrums on several occasions before, but this time it had gone into “crazy mode” as it tried to “eat” his car.

The boar was later deposited at Wat Chetawanaram, where many wild boars have been given a home, and it quickly made friends, leaving people to wonder if his bad behaviour could be put down to loneliness.

And what if this boar attacked the neighbours car? Would the owner have paid for the damage?

pun of the week !

Where is Atalanta when you need her?

"Its eyes glowed with bloodshot fire: its neck was stiff with bristles, and the hairs, on its hide, bristled stiffly like spear shafts: just as a palisade stands, so the hairs stood like tall spears. Hot foam flecked the broad shoulders, from its hoarse grunting. Its tusks were the size of an Indian elephant’s: lightning came from its mouth: and the leaves were scorched, by its breath." -- Ovid

I guess he'll have to bore the brunt of his actions for years to come.

They have a large number of Boar at Doi Saket temple.  Is this common? Why?

Indeed,  "salsiccia di cinghiale" (wild boar sausage) was one on Madam's favourites when we lived in Italy.

At first glance i thought it was about a Pattaya Bar customer.

Looks like sausage on the hoof to me. Should re-purpose from pet to table.
