They also locked down the Kings Romans casino SEZ, home to mostly Chinese. In Thailand there are not mandatory nationwide face mask laws - depends on the province, but generally speaking, face masks are only required to enter shops, public transport etc. same in Cambodia. You're in Asia after all - ALL Asian nations have complained about westerners not wearing mask. Cambodia included. BTW nowadays about half the Thai population has stopped wearing masks, except to enter places they are required to. Visa renewals? No issue in Thailand. Laos? No amnesty for foreigners stuck there. 1 month special extensions that need to be paid for. OK I guess. Cambodia - new TM30 like app now. Inter-provincial travel mostly allowed in Thailand now too. I understand Cambodia had the least severe lockdown in ASEAN but don't assume other countries did the same. Please Bill, you make some good posts sometime, but don't use hyperbole making up facts to suit your thinly veiled hatred of Thailand. BTW in your namesake country, Burma, there is still a curfew in place. Thank you for your comments, but just one point, face-masks are no longer required to be worn here in Siem Reap when entering shops, banks, pharmacies etc. In fact many people, including local Khmers and myself, no longer wear face-masks. Hand sanitizing and body temperature taken at some supermarkets, yes, but that is about all. Social distancing signs in my bank have now been removed and it is business as usual. Enjoy Thailand. 1

Same in Thailand. I was just out yesterday and people are walking into 7-11 as normal, no apps and NO temperature checks at the door. That's less than they're doing in Cambodia. The guy at the gas station pumping gas was wearing a face mask but the guy in the cashier booth was not. Less than 50% of people around me are still wearing face masks and it's been like this since early May. I don't understand why you spend so much time hanging out on Thaivisa making up lies about Thailand and trying to convince us Cambodia is totally different. It isn't. Most regional countries have started to relax things, although Myanmar recently came up with a new travel requirement after earlier easing restrictions. Shouldn't you be spending your time on Cambodia Expats Online or Khmer 440? If you have no desire to return to Thailand, why waste your time on here? I sometimes visit CEO or Khmer440, but I don't go there to troll or bitch about Cambodia or make up conspiracy theories or cherry pick facts, like ignoring the fact that Cambodia is enforcing a new foreigner registration system, while Thailand has actually relaxed it's own version after the outcry last year.

A neighbour of mine is in her early 30s, she was in the ICU for 4 weeks with COVID-19, in a medically induced coma. Last time I checked she was learning to walk again. She has no underlying health issues that put her at a high risk. Still, does it matter how old somebody is to have died? They have families and loved ones, and if it is an unnecessary death it doesn't make a difference how old they are.
