Hello

im 24 years old. i live in knoxville,TN USA. i love muay thai and thailand. hangin out on the beach.( a reason im going to thailand :o ) going out and having a few drinks.

Im planing to go back to thailand, but this time for good.

I will get my tefl cert , the 120 hr course in thailand and also look for a job teaching english.

I will find a apt or house to live in and ect, ect

I would like to find some one to plan and do the things together.

Well the goal of this post is to try to find some one else that is doing the same thing and is around my age and share the same interest. By doing that i would like to plan going to thailand at same time with that person for a number of reasons.

THIS IS NOT FOR EVERY ONE!! so dont post back telling how this would not

work for you, saying stuff like...i think traveing by my self is fine.

If you must post and this is not for you...could you you please post some positive advice.

1.Traveling by yourself SUCKS!!

2. Going to a different country for the first time with some with you is alot better than going alone. (some one to Watch Your Back) (some one to talk to) (ect)

3.Shareing expenses will help out alot when starting out in thailand. (food) (rent) (ect)

4.Planing and helping each other in finding tefl school to attend and help study.

5.shareing each others contacts and helping each other in common goal.

I would like to do this for the first month or whatever untill one of us is ready to get there own apt and part ways.

If this sounds like somthing you would be interested in, just send me PM or email.

You would be moving to The Titanic. Save yourself some grief and do a Korea or Taiwan job search. Most of us teachers here are not happy. Do a forum search or go the local teacher website. Google ajarn.

And if you do come here, bring me some butterfingers!

sniperteam6, you took the words right out of my mouth, but that's not what he's asking for! He wants a travelling buddy, and if we're travelling, we're probably going in the opposite direction.

I'd settle for a box of Hershey bars, original version.

No James, it's a lot of people saying that Thailand is finished and they're leaving - usually they don't leave.

Been here 10 years and ALWAYS farang are complaining. My life is bloody good here and so's the lives of many of my friends. If teachers do live, think of all thoase available jobs.

Well let's just hope it is not the English Language. Has the OP considered Esperanto ? It has not been taught here yet to my knowledge and so few people speak it worldwide, that any failings in language skills you may have , will go unnoticed.

From reeding the OPs originel post I fink he would make a fantastick teecher...

He likes a few drinks as well, got 120 hours Tefl, sign him up!

Skchools everywhere waiting to sign him up!

Well, he is coming from Nashville. A can of chitlins will do fine, actually. God I miss southern food. I can hear him in the classroom now..... "Y'awll need to say howdy, not hello". With a mix of eubonics, of course.

Just kidding man. Any teaching experience is good experience. But as another poster said, bring moola, dude. No money, no honey! And brush up on your sapelling.

Good luck finding a travel buddy, or at least finding one that doesn't become a liability................

Comming here to teach ATM is like boarding the Titanic, however, the Titanic can not come back but hopefully with time and common sense, teaching English in Thailand can be once again as attractive as it use to be.

When one think in people from developing countries and the chances the have to a move for good to other country (specially developed), it makes easy to appreciate how good is Thailand for farangs.

Would love to have the chance move to USA for good with a 240hr course skills (even twice).

Well; Thailand is the country in where farangs can make a paradise for themselves.

If you try, for sure it may work for you. Good luck.

James Goku and Dragonquest, congratulations on prompting the creation of a new subforum guideline (which I will add to the general guidelines):

Posters who are suspected of baiting the other members through behaviors such as:

a. Starting multiple threads without following up with posts in their previous threads

b. Starting threads with suspiciously contrived spelling and grammar errors

c. Commenting off-topic in a manner which derails threads, especially in ways which go off-topic or break other forum guidelines

may find their topics closed or themselves warned.

(of course, other users are still free to PM OP :o)
