Cheeky monkey! Tourist gets her gold back thanks to the rescue foundation

The Thammaratsami Maneerat foundation rescue were called to the Khao Sammuk area of Bang Saen after a monkey made off with a tourist's gold chain.

One of the rescue team shinned up a tree and managed to get most of a half baht weight chain back - part of it had come loose.

Earn, 23, on holiday in Bang Saen from Nakhon Nayok, said she had put her bag down to use her phone to take pictures of the monkeys.

But one made a dash for her bag then disappeared up onto a roof.

The sparkly chain - worth about 14,000 baht - was contained in a little red bag and was taken by the monkey.

Earn was very grateful to the rescue staff for their efforts, reported 77kaoded.

Almost like it knew what it was doing........

And if it was in the little red bag, how come they only got "a part of it" back ? The monkey opened the bag and took out the necklace and it broke when the guy tried to retrieve it ?

Might want to check that area to see if those monkeys have been snatching things from other peoples bags as well. (Could be someone has been training them to do just that.)
