webfact
One new Covid-19 case in state quarantine By The Nation One more person in state quarantine has tested positive for Covid-19 over a 24-hour period, the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Wednesday (June 24). Thailand has passed 30 days without domestic cases, CCSA spokesman Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin said. The 31-year-old male restaurant employee had returned from the Philippines and was asymptomatic. Meanwhile, three more patients recovered fully and returned home. As of June 24, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,157 (2,444 domestic cases and 220 found in state quarantine) -- 73 are under treatment, 3,026 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been 58 deaths. Globally, the total number of confirmed cases reached 9.3 million, up by 165,000 on Tuesday, of whom 4.8 million have recovered while deaths have exceeded 470,000. Dr Taweesin asked everyone to remain cautious since the number of cases in the world and neighbouring countries are still high. Popular Post statman78
No local transmission cases for 30 days. Time to open everything up and relax or eliminate the restrictions for everyone here in Thailand. However, I’m sure the government will find a reason to keep the “state of emergency” in place. 5
Popular Post 4MyEgo
Of course they haven't had any new cases in 30 days, they are just waiting to open up the international airports to start all over again to show how quickly they can contain it, like the first time, and fudging numbers wouldn't have anything to do with it, 39 million tourists/arrivals in 2019, of the 39 million, 8 million were Chinese, and only 3,157 odd infections + 58 deaths, remarkable Thailand, even beat the Aussies who have no borders surrounding them. Back in April Chula had 150+ Covid19 patients with about 10 on ventilators. Now they have 0 (zero!) Patients. Despite the lack of testing and at times suspicious low official numbers, Thailand is pretty much Covid free. The future might look very different as per the post today: "Dr Prasit said a second wave appears to be unavoidable without lockdown measures, in the absence of herd immunity."
