All Schengen passports have an Authority field equals place of issue. Different by county/province.

What do write in a visa application form when asked for “Place of issue”?

This was only a partial answer for the entire problem. It would allow people from countries say like the USA to go to another 100% safe cleared country that has not banned foreigners, then do the wait for virus free 14days+ and then transit on to Thailand. As for the Chinese city to city conundrum pulling the wool over the Thai officials eyes, I would say that it has to be a direct flight from their cleared city or direct connecting flight to a city that is cleared and must be with a translated registered home address into Thai or English by an officially registered translator.

But honestly I don't trust the Chinese or their government since years ago doing business with them and then watching their on-stage worldly movements and then they are always crying foul as that they are being singled out and attacked, persecuted or misunderstood. All the while they are stomping on countries rights and territories and undermining world economies all for their onw little gains.

But I do believe their CV19 numbers are not true and that they should not be allowed and open to travel without extra proof they are in-fact healthy and virus free to enter Thailand.

.

Agree, but lots of red tape then.

No hassle free travels for bubble residents. Is in contradiction to the purpose of the bubbles.

Ok, on the very first days maybe, but most countries quickly organised rapatriement flights for their citizens, and most tourists still in Thailand now are there because they chose to stay there... IMHO

For which country can't you find a way to fly in from Thailand ?

Incoming international flights were suspended on the 4th April. Since that time repatriation flights to various countries have been ongoing. This was not a case of people being stuck in Thailand for just a few days but for weeks and weeks. On June the 10th as an example a flight from Russia to Phuket collecting stranded tourists departed back to Russia.

As for for those stranded Thai's outside Thailand wanting to return, well we know thats also still ongoing.

The F-wits are religious groups who celebrated the end of Ramadan.

Did i name which f-wit Groups??? stop putting words in my mouth and its obvious you have no idea whats been happening in Melbourne, just another one who couldn't help himself to blow his mouth off just because he can.

Iceland seems to have the right idea.  Test upon arrival, then upon the all clear, let the tourists do their thing.

I think so too. By residence makes more sense, but is not feasible.

Imagine you have to bring along a residence certificate.

Do you have to translate it first or does the IO have to learn all the languages out there? Let alone if it’s not even written with Roman letters.

By port of embarkation is not feasible either, because too easy to circumvent.

Assuming that only a low single digit percentage of the world population don’t live there where their passports are issued, makes the place of issue quite accurate to be used as differentiator.

Not true in China, a large percentage of the population has to work in a different province and it is difficult to move your residential status from place to place.

yesterday 25 June 2020, in Australia the boss of Qantas said it would be probably next June before they start on tourist flights the prime minister concurred this. Today the chief medical officer in Australia said that he cannot see people being allowed to travel to SE Asia /Europe/America for another year unless an anti-virus becomes available. The only people drinking /eating in bars and restaurants will be Thai/Expats. Only manufacturing and Agriculture will remain.

Maldives also. As of July 15, no quarantine, no tests before entering, only tests if have symptoms when entering. Some resorts have set up elaborate systems to safely integrate new arrivals to their self-contained resorts.

If Thai authorities want to learn how to get the luxury vacation segment open, they should read this article. Unfortunately we all know they won't because they have invented and perfected a completely new and different approach.

You trust the “three stooges” that you mentioned! On the day Qantas boss sacked 6000 and gave himself a further 3 yrs multi million $ paycheck?

I think chinese are not allowed to domestic travel between two cities if their tracing application does not approve.

I was really thinking of Chinese nationals living in China who could have a passport issued, say, where they were born, but are working somewhere there's currently a Covid outbreak - like Beijing at the moment.

Do you know if they could do that?

Sorry Steven. Your hero and his military cronies and bought and paid for ministers aren't that smart or intellectual.

Wow, people who are at the top of the helm in their societies, prestige, money, and social standing are not smart but people who flee their own country, unable to find a bride in their own cutlture and ethnicity, take refuge in a foreign land using a "wife visa" that requires them to report their where abouts every 90-day, file report when the change residence, and given permsision to stay one year at a time are smart. It just redifnes the smartness defintion.

According to that story, travellers need to show evidence that they did not test positive for the virus.  The only way that would be even remotely valid is if you got the test a day or two before you travel.  Supposedly a lot of tests are not very accurate, especially in the first few days of contracting the virus, so that's another thing that doesn't doesn't make this sound very well thought out.

The Singapore-China Fast Lane to Facilitate Business Travel: Key Features
 June 12, 2020

(Excerpt)

What are the pre-departure health checks?
Approved applicants will need to undertake a PCR test for COVID-19 at least 48 hours before flying from either country.  Applicants flying from China to Singapore must have remained in one of the six registered provinces at least seven days before departure.  As such, upon arrival in Singapore, the traveler must present the SafeTravel Pass, a negative PCR result, a valid visa (for those that require it), and a return ticket.

What are the post-arrival health checks?
Travelers arriving in Singapore will have to take another PCR test, at their own expense. The host company or government agency will transport the traveler to their declared accommodation to undergo self-isolation while waiting for the results.  If the results turn out to be positive for the virus, the traveler will undergo medical treatment at a designated hospital, also at their own expense.

14 day quarantine. Thailand can open tomorrow. Or you come from a country which is completely virus free.

Thailand just needs to set up apartment or hotels that are suitable for 14 day quarantine and approve them. Tourist can book them before they arrive.

It could be awhile for Aussies.

The Prime Minister has said it's 'not unreasonable' to assume international travel will be off the cards until July 2021.

Scott Morrison believes Australia's borders may stay closed until then prevent the spread of coronavirus.
