Who's the Boss?

Recommended Posts

Its an old cliche, dogs have owners but cats have servants.

If a cat condescends to stay with you it will expect proper treatment, in return it will scare away or catch unwanted pests like rodents, which it will display to you expecting praise.

If your treatment or appreciation is inadequate, it will quickly find another home.

We have an aged cat that visited our UK garden just over a year ago and has requisitioned it as his/her own empire.  Hard to tell if boy or girl according to my Thai wife but completely non-aggressive, even to other cats, so I reckon female.

During the warm weather our friend/owner sleeps in our garden all day and moves about to different locations for comfort.  We leave food out for all wildlife but our friend takes the rich pickings.  The cat also waits outside our back door in the morning as my wife gets up very early.  The cat demands the bird bath water is changed every morning before drinking and insists on escorting my wife to complete this daily task.

This cat doesn't care about super-spicy Thai curry leftovers just as long as it contains meat.

We've both noticed this cat as exceptionally clever and a master manipulator, even among cats.

I think I resonate with the 'master manipulator' for cats in general!

We sort of took one in a few years ago and she has had a few litters since then as have some of her kittens. We are now down to 5 and great great grandma is the only one which shows any affection.

Her grand daughter won't let anyone near her and the 3 kittens are slowly getting used to me and my wife. They are quick enough when it comes to food and water time though.

They are all outside cats and not allowed indoors at any time.

Once had a cat, she dint eat that much and we were wondering why.

The cat strummed the area, as she was the queen.

Opposite our house there was an older couple and so now and then we were in contact with them.

Once they told, our cat was visiting them regularly and then they gave our cat roastbeef and other nice meat.

Ok problem solved why our cat didnt eat at home, she was dining out.

1 pet gives you more affection.

2 (or more) pets prefer each other.

My rabbit helps post on ThaiVisa with me.

You're right ...... it's disgusting.

Mainly from the airborne pollution during the burning season in Chiang Mai.

My lungs probably look as bad on the inside.

Back on topic,

The boss says, "I only work in the bedroom, you want cleaning, hire a housekeeper"

I used to have a big black tom cat who was user friendly but he went walkabout in search of better food I guess. He came back a few times but I haven't seen him for a while lately.

I am sure you are aware of this but in ancient Egypt, cats were held in very high esteem and frequently regarded as superior deities.

They will not let humankind forget this.

Why should they? The Egyptians were right....!

In any home the Cat(s) is at the top of the pecking order.

Indeed they are.

I was 'instructed' that they both needed food, after which they both decided to sleep against my my legs.

Every time in the last 15 minutes I have attempted to move has been greeted with a little love bite, from one or the other, or both!

I'm basically a cuckold to my cats

????????????????

I feed a couple of unattached cats in my village. They're almost impossible to tell apart except 'someone' bobbed their tails different lengths and they are opposite sexes. (You do not have to pick up a cat to tell).

The older (obviously older) male cat will leave the food when the female shows up and she never does the same for him. (They do not fight, but if stares could kill they'd both be dead. When he moves off from the food he never takes his glare off of her, nor she he until she starts eating).

OOPS!!!  I didn't see your picture... A calico cat is usually female. I suspect that you're right about being female.
