Karaoke can open but employees can't sit with customers and no singing. What's the point of going?

Can always mime, or use sign language

I am guessing you have not read the 22 rules?

  • Not so sure about that. Quite a few I know are used to drinking at home now with friends and seeing the money they save, also the 22 rule thing doesn't apply in your house.

Any of the big bars and nightclubs and Go-Go's that attempt to enforce all 22 of those rules won't be open for two weeks before they re close.

Worth noting that 'residency' isn't the same thing as 'permanent residency' - some clarification is required here.....

In the governments own words, foreigners who spend more than 180 days per year in Thailand are 'resident'.

Really?

Trying to get back into Thailand and told that residency refers to PR only.

They have a PR card/booklet.

Im on retirement extension and put more than 180 days in Thailand.

But get told its only the equivalent of a TR visa.

Actually, if there's no singing, I might go to one, but that's not important right now.

through the normal quarantine channels the bar customers have all been here in internal quarantine for 3 months anyway.

Cant they qurantine for one day, do a viral tests and get the results in 24-hours to clear non-infected people? Is the virus going to show up in a viral test if infected in the past hours or so (e.g. infected in the flight). It will generate lots of money for hotels but logistics of moving thousands of people by government officials from airports and monitoring them till the results are available may be a nightmare.
