An 18-year-old photographer turned himself in at Chonburi’s Nongprue Police Station for trying to rape a model during a photoshoot on Thursday (July 2).

The incident came to light when the model, 19, posted her experience on Facebook, explaining how she managed to escape sexual assault and filed a report at the police station.

The offender showed up later to meet the investigators and confessed to all accusations, before he was charged with attempting to rape.

The suspect said he had been turned on while taking photographs of the model posing in the swimming pool and that he had no intentions to hurt the victim.

The model said the photographer showed up while she was changing clothes in the bathroom, and tried to rape her, but fled when someone walked by and she screamed for help.

He later reportedly sent her a text later saying he could not control himself.

And then he expects all to be forgiven?

I hope that somebody find him sexy in jail, and cannot control himself/themselves.

Perhaps police should contact other models he has photographed.  They may find this "sexy model" is not the only "sexy model" he has sexually assaulted.

Was the guy a professional photographer at 18?  Was he just a guy who paid a model to pose for him?

Some people just don't get it, there is a real world and a fantasy world, possibly too much PornHub, which reminds me.............

Another part of this is the shady 'model' industry in this country. Family friend's 17 yo daughter (very pretty girl, but very naive) ignored all family pleas to not join a model agency in Bkk (10,000Baht joining fee, which she paid for from her savings working part-time at McDonalds).

Agency assigned her to a model shoot in Korat, she readily confirmed and bought a bus ticket. She was expecting someone from the agency would be there, nobody turned up except a scruffy Thai man young twenties.

He took her to a hotel on outskirts of Korat city saying the client wanted shots in a bedroom. She changed into a bikini, the cameraman insisted that she leave the bathroom door open, but she says she refused and locked the door.

Within a few seconds the bikini was forceably ripped off her and she was raped.

Lady manager of hotel was alerted by another guest about her screams for help, manager went to the room, cameraman insisted that this is what models are for. Manager called security and 2 guards held the cameraman until the police arrived.

Police took the cameraman and the  girl to the police station and gave the girl quite some lecture about working like this, took her statement and then took her to the bus station. At bus station she discovered the cameraman had stolen her money and her phone. Police gave her some money for the tour bus and to get home in Bkk.

At home in Bkk her mother took her to a hospital and got a statement that she had been raped. Mother called the police and got a lecture about protecting her daughter, end of call.

Girl called the agency and said she resigned from the agency and wanted her 10,000Baht refunded. Agency woman laughed and hung up.

Males who "can't control themselves" is the age-old rationale for abayas, sheilas, burqas and all the other walking tent-like coverings required of women in many Islamic countries.

Interesting that he thought attempted rape was a 'hurtless' crime

I've seen a few Facebook sites where they feature photo shoots with scantily clad young models. It seems that some places will arrange a place and the model(s) and people can sign up, pay a fee and then spend a couple hours (along with whoever else signed up) taking photos. (I guess they then sell the photos on other sites or use them for some other purpose maybe ? Maybe in advertisements, like when you see those "phone sex" ads with photos of hot women.)

Those sites seem to keep a grip on things (supervise it) so that it's not "1 girl and 6 horny guys with cameras alone in a hotel room". I got the impression that, in some cases at least, they also provided lighting and other assistance (like the people holding those reflective screens so that the subject isn't "shaded" by the lights).

And many of those models have their own facebook pages loaded with pics from different shoots they've done and links (sometimes) to upcoming events or to the agency that books them. I'd suspect that a lot of them are more than willing to do "private" photo shoots where they keep all the money and the agency is none the wiser.

Shi* like in the OP probably happens far more often than is reported though. Really surprised the guy turned himself in. We'll never hear the outcome of course (as per usual) so we'll never know if he ended up in prison or managed to "make a deal" with the girl in order to get the charges dropped.

Where have we heard this same line before?  About a thousand times....

There must be some class offered in Thai schools where future would-be rapists are instructed that if they're ever actually caught by the police, the first thing they need to say is, "I could not control myself."

Well if he can't control himself, he's obviously not fit to live among normal people. Lock him up for life and rid society of this animal.

Going on face book to tell the world, better spend the time looking for security
