Does anyone have any recent experience of flying with Thai Viet Jet? Positive or negative feedback, Covid related issues or delays? Looking to fly to and from Phuket with them next week possibly ...

I used them a few days ago from Chiang Rai - BKK, flight left 15min before scheduled time. No issues to report.

Take care with there hidden costs, when you book online uncheck all the boxes for additional charges, they also charge extra to select your own seat preference.

Thanks for the feedback. The reviews online look dreadful! I'm just wondering how many domestic travellers are flying with them these days, and whether to expect issues with Covid, social distancing etc. I suppose if they have fewer passengers, there might be fewer delays ...

I used them for about 30 flights a year with weekly flights there and back to Phuket...Chiang Rai.

They are ok, most are A320 aircraft brought over from Vietnam. I agree with the poster above.

Thanks for the feedback. Although all the online reviews are very scathing and say no to touch them, these were written a couple of months ago. Maybe as it's quieter now, their service may be better. Might just risk it ...

Nothing wrong with vietjet ... used them many times. What are you concerned about ?

Don't expect 5 star service from a budget airline that's all.

Your choices are limited now with covid & AA in trouble.

If the reviews you read are so bad then just forget them and look elsewhere.

Is this your big trip for the year.

Vietjet has been awarded the highest ranking for safety with 7-stars since 2018. It is a fully-fledged member of International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate and technical reliability rate standing at 99.64%

I've taken three flights with them since the Phuket airport reopened. They are currently not allowing online check in so you have to get your boarding pass at the airport ticket counter. That is odd since a mobile boarding pass would reduce the need to speak with a check in agent, but it does allow them to weigh your hand carry luggage and charge you if it's over 7 kg. Mine was 7.6 once and 7.4 another time and I was ok, but if you get to 8 kg, I imagine you'd be charged.

As with the other carriers right now, there is zero service on the plane from the flight attendants, and no food or drinks for sale.

All of my flights have departed and arrived early. That's mostly because there is zero congestion at the airport (in Phuket there is usually only one plane on the ground at a time) so planes immediately take off and land.

Not at all concerned about the service onboard or the state of the aircraft but I would like to get to Phuket and back with the family without flight delays or cancellations if at all possible.  Several recent reviews in this respect are not positive. Unfortunately there are not many other options for flying to Phuket right now
