Upper Thailand is likely to receive lesser rainfall than in the preceding weeks due to the weak southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea and Thailand.

The easterly wind prevails over the South, resulting in continued rainfall and isolated heavy rain in the region, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Saturday (July 11).

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees Celsius and highs of 34-37°C.

Northeast: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-27°C and highs of 35-37°C.

East: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-29°C, highs of 33-36°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 33-36°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 30-32°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
