BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's Minister to the Prime Minister's Office Tewan Liptapanlop will resign on Monday, his party spokeswoman told Reuters, and would be the fifth member of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha's cabinet to quit in less than five days.

Chart Pattana Party spokeswoman Yaowapa Boorapolchai told Reuters the party leadership had decided Tewan would leave his cabinet post to pave the way for a cabinet reshuffle.

Chart Pattana is among the 20 coalition partner of the government led by Prayuth and it holds only one cabinet position.

Tewan's resignation would follow that of Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and two other ministers, who quit Prayuth's cabinet on Thursday.

Here we go, like rats leaving a sinking ship.

How many more?

No rats leaving.

All those parties were given a free cabinet seat, just to make sure prayuth had a majority, and now are of no use anymore and are made an offer they can't refuse to resign

Time for an election

I only hope that the growing protests do not end in tragedy.  How many times have we seen "unrest" escalate to all-out bloody confrontation?  If the PM is backed into a corner, I fear that rather than throw in the towel (therefore losing face), he will do whatever it takes to stay in charge.  Maybe a military coup? Oh, forgot, tried that a few times before!

Sounds like some sort of Jenga game but with politicians .. see how many they can remove afore it all collapses ..

Looks like Prayut will be pushed out by his friend Lil Fattie Prawit and Anutin will assume the throne...yes more sarcasm...

Let's hope that with this person resigning the protesters can bolster more strength from it to topple the regime and kick them to the backseat of only having power to play army.

Rats leaving a sinking ship? There must be more behind all these resignations.

Yes, it's all quite concerning.

Nothing new here ... haven't even heard of the guy.

Khun Prayut Chan O Cha recently announced a reshuffle of his cabinet so I can't see why you are all surprised at this. Thailand will continue to move forward with Khun Prayut in control thankfully.

Or one in the making as a complete overhaul to place those retiring from the Military in a trough position to keep feeding

Paving the way for a..............

2014 Thai coup d'état - Wikipedia

Nothing major here. Just coalition politics. Every political mouth must be give time at the trough if the PM wishes them to be malleable MPs and vote his way so he can extend his time in power. I am sure everyone has received substantial compensation for their duty to country while in the PMs cabinet.

They've already re-arranged the deck chairs on the titanic.

Time for a new approach.  Get out!

Reshuffle is a strange name for a General but TIT ................LOL

I've seen happier faces ............

Is this the new Thai style of shuffling the parlament?  What kind of democracy are

these people trying? Interesting.

Geezer
