The photograph of a new graduate crouching at his father’s feet in respect went viral recently.

Instagram user Pharuehas22 said in his post that he was lucky to have been born to a garland seller.

“We should never be ashamed of our parents’ career. I believe everyone can achieve what they dream of,” he said, adding that students who are tired of studying should think about the people working hard to send them to school in the first place.

His post has been widely shared, and people have posted comments praising and congratulating him.

He can be proud of his father.

Too many just take off when there are problems. Booze seems to be often more important.

There is dignity and self respect in working to provide for your family instead of receiving unnecessary government handouts.   Kudos to you sir and your fine young man.  There may still be hope for Thailand's future.

It's people like that young man and his dad who are the backbone of this country, as well as its true moral compass.

Or Ya-Ba (as in my ex-family)

A true feel good story. Congrats to both of them.

Refreshing to see someone with a sincere and principled sense of values. The successful future of the country depends on young people like this.

Another couple of good new refreshing positive topics, to make us think about life. Lets have more of this please

Interesting to see so many positive comments from a forum where so many posters seem to sit by their keyboards eager for a chance to call a fellow expat a "cheap Charlie", "broke", "skint", "go home", etc., rather than showing any respect and understanding of his situation.

I have the feeling that their numbers here, as well as around the world, are dwindling as we become more obsessed with me, me, me.

Nothing wrong with hard work.
