MR Chatumongol Sonakul

Labour Minister MR Chatumongol Sonakul confirmed with Nation TV reporters via telephone on Monday evening (July 20) that he has resigned after his team earlier submitted a resignation letter to Government House.

Chatumongol did not reveal the reason for quitting but said he did not resign to facilitate a Cabinet reshuffle. When asked what he would do next, Chatumongol said he did not have any plans yet but was looking forward to taking a break from working.

Earlier on Monday, Chart Pattana Party leader Tewan Liptapanlop also stepped down from his post as Prime Minister’s Office minister, saying he resigned because “the prime minister can reshuffle the Cabinet freely and without any worries”.

Chatumongol, who quit as leader of the Action Coalition for Thailand Party on June 16, was replaced by party secretary-general Taweesak Na Takuatung.

Action Coalition co-founder Suthep Thaugsuban said the party had proposed to the prime minister that Anek Laothamatas replace Chatumongol as labour minister as the ministerial berth in the Cabinet is still under the party’s quota.

It's like happy hour at the trough of the new national budget. And some of these members have been told they've had enough to drink.

Never mind, there won't be a lack of unqualified 'politicians' ready to gorge themselves at that table.

Another one bites the dust, soon there will be none left except for little P and the watchman.

Something strange going on,as even if they are caught with

their hand in the till,or when it comes out you are a drug

smuggler........they will not resign ,here you have MP's bailing

out on their own accord, what do they know that we don't ?

Looks like he should be in a care-home armchair with pipe and slippers sucking on a Werthers anyway.

Is there something going on ? People resigning , people turning down job offers.

something is not being told

I think they've been told their turn as come to an end, time for someone else to get a share. Resigning is more face saving and acceptable than being shoved out. Simple as that.
