Hi all.

I think it used to be that if one left LOS from Don Muang one day over your visa or as in my case 30 day non visa automatic entry stay, there would be no problem nor any fine etc..

Do you know if that is still the case from Suvarnabhumi or if any new overstay rules etc?.

I do not want to break the law but it would be useful for me to travel out 1 day late.

Thanks

Any overstay is risky if you get picked up before arriving at the airport (yes even ONE day).

However one day is still 'free' AFAIK. You will still get an 'overstay' stamp in your PP something which is best avoided, not particularly for Thailand but other countries may use it as a reason to refuse a visa.

crossy, I went out of the airport one day over and never got an overstay stamp, just a straight exit stamp although it was done at the desk behind passport control.

First(one) day overstay is "free" , second(two) day cost you THB 1,000.-.

No extra allowance at any landborder.

I left in March07 with 1 day overstay and did not get any stamp/mark in my passport.

Good news for those who choose the flaunt the law :o

Seriously, it's not something I do so I can't speak from personal experience (only people I know and that was at DM, pretty sure it was only one day though) so I bow to your recent experiences. :D
