I can not for the life of me remember the name, but I often heard about a Casino island between Thailand and Burma, which people could do visa-runs to.

Technically there is no need to enter Burma proper (mainland) and one could simply board a vessel 6hrs from Phuket (can't remember the name of the place) and complete a visa extension, renewal, change etc, whilst playing roulette.

 

Is this place still open? and if so, will that be utilisable for a new visa type or change (currently on 60day family extension) and want to change back to a Non-Im O.

 

 

Andaman Club. It was opened in March when I did a visa run, I do not know the current status.

You cannot get boat there from phuket ,,,you have to go up to ranong to and andaman club pier,,don’t think they will do visa change there ...

I said 6hrs from Phuket, i just couldn't remember the name of the town.

Regarding the visa; I have only gone there to get another 90 days on my existing visa. I am pretty sure you cannot change back to a Non-Im O there; if you have a visa for multiple entries, it counts as a new entry; if you do not have a visa, you get 14 days (or maybe 30 days).

Yeah, i went there to do a 60 day family then jump to non im 0, they did the 60 day then said, you wont be able to change to a non im o lol, that was the middle of the month, so now i've lost the 60 day, and the visa amnesty is extended lol 

 

Dont mind going to swiss, but wives visa runs out Sep for there, so its a bit of a pain.

Went there once years ago. Maybe 2001 or 2. Had a stinking hangover and threw up in the toilets at the casino. Didn't like it. 

 

Prefer the long-tail over to Kawthaung. Used to be a bar right on the front with Draft beer for 20 baht a glass. Mark Bar I think it was called. Send the Burmese kids off the do my shopping. The Myanmar rum for 40 baht a bottle, and a carton of Golden Triangle for 70 I think. And I found out in later trips that you could buy 4 viagra for 20 baht too. 

 

Then back down the fish bridge in Ranong to get drunk again that night. Those were the days.
