There were nine cases of Covid-19 in state quarantine over a 24-hour period, the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), reported on Sunday (July 26).

It was the 62nd day without domestic cases since May.

Of the new cases, five were asymptomatic, whuch included a 30-year-old student who had returned from Philipines, a 30-year-old housemaid from Bahrain, a 19-year-old male student, and two female missionaries aged 43 and 45 from Indonesia.

Two male workers from Singapore aged 48 and 49 showed symptoms, a 23-year-old male freelancer returning from Egypt had a runny nose and a 30-year-old male student returning from Saudi Arabia had fever.

As of July 26, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,291 (354 in state quarantine) -- 115 are under treatment, 3,109 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been 58 deaths.

Globally, the total number of confirmed cases passed 16.1 million, up by 259,000 with 9.2 million recovered while deaths stood at 648,000. Thailand remains at 105th among countries with most number of cases. The US has seen the highest number (4.3 million), followed by Brazil (2.39 million) and India (1.38 million ).

I would like to see these covid cases in relation to the volume of returnees. How many are bringing in the virus per plane.

As I have a slight hunch that people are being cross infected whilst in quarantine.

There just seems to be a large number of positive cases in quarantine every day.

Where other countries like Vietnam for example are posting how many people from what countries are returning daily. They are also posting way lower infected returnees per day also.

Doesn't add up, all covid-19 cases in Thailand are returnees or a foreign soldier on the loose or a Somalian girl. I see Denang has two more positive cases, maybe these low infection countries in SE Asia have been economical with the truth.

Not economical with the truth but clever wording. These are the number of cases "reported" each day not the number of cases detected. There is no legal requirement to test or report anything about this pandemic it's totally discretionary. If people want to draw conclusions about what is being "reported" that's up to them. You don't "know" anything about any covid-19 cases here in Thailand other than what's "reported".Governments use clever "media companies" to imply anything they want without actually saying it,much like in advertising.

Edit: I must apologise for assuming you don't know about covid-19 cases in Thailand as I don't know if you "know" or not,I know I don't know about them only what's reportedly reported about them. It's easy to be misled. It's also easy to make assumptions as well, which is I suspect the media's main weapon. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Yes.

The covid 19 in Da Nang are chinese nationals that have been smuggled into the country. They arrested 4 in Da Nang on the 11th July and another 24 (I think) a few days later in Hoi An, just further south.

Today 27th they arrested the ringleader of the people smuggling ring.

So they believe these new cases have come from external nationals and not from within.

Repetition

The numbers I have been seeing from various global health agencies/experts are that 80% of those exposed to Covid will have no symptoms or symptoms so mild they are considered asymptomatic. These numbers, on a small sample size are not too far off.
