If you are a teacher you have a non imm B. If you are married you can have a non imm O. Correct?

So if I am out of the country what visa do I apply for?? :o

You can apply for either one if you have the proper documents, and you can obtain a work permit with either one. I think it may be more simple to get the Non-Imm-"O" and get extensions for being married.

yep, apply for the non-imm O, you can then go and look for a job...

Thanks guys. So next question, do I need a marriage certificate from Thailand or is one from Canada good enough? Any links on how to get a non-imm O?

There are several consulate offices through out Canada. The link below is to the Embassy website in Canada. If you look in the visa section, it will give information about visa requirements and farther down it will list the contact information for each consulate.

Hopefully one is near you, or you can get it processed by mail.

You can only be married once (in this culture) at any one time and your marriage certificate wherever you were married is recognised anywhere in the world so that's the one you should show.

If you are getting a Non Imm O for the reason of being married to a Thai then you will also have to show a copy of his ID or Passport to link the marriage certificate to a Thai national.
