webfact
Pathum Thani: Meteor suspected as explosion rattles windows Picture: Sanook Many people in Pathum Thani in particular but also in Ayuthaya and Bangkok thought there had been an earthquake yesterday after window panes rattled in houses. Sanook quoted a disaster expert on Twitter as saying there had been no tremor. He and others indicated that what people experienced was most likely a shock wave from a meteor breaking up in the Earth's atmosphere. One expert said that this can happen at any time and not just during meteor showers.
