Campaign Launched to Offer Pork at Lower Prices

BANGKOK, August 7 (TNA) – As retail pork prices surge to 10-year high, the Commerce Ministry launches a campaign to offer pork at lower prices to consumers.

In cooperation with the Swine Raisers Association of Thailand, the “Blue Flag” campaign reduces pork price from 170-180 baht to 130 baht per kilogram.

Higher retail prices driven by rising domestic demand as well as exports have prompted the Commerce Ministry’s Internal Trade Department to limit pork exports to neighbouring countries and China.

Is this the 'Ministry' that asked the Supermarkets to cut prices to 'help' people during the Lockdown ?   If this is the case then the price of Pork will be staying high !

African Swine Fever and its successor will keep prices high.

Just paid 140 baht/Kg at Tesco.

Suppliers know there's a surplus and that means lower prices to move the supply. Blue Flag campaign is unnecessary.

How did piggy get to hospital .?

In a hambulance ..

I got caught in a bacon tree...oh, it was a hambush....

Prices are prices are in a free market economy. If the blue flag thingy can sell pork at 130 per kilo, then so can others. Stop buying pork at 170 - 180, then see it become a buyers market.

I bet the pork farm prices are nowhere near 170 per kilo. They sure aren't in US or UK. I thought it was cheaper to live here. Shows how wrong I was.
