Popular Post webfact
8,000 job applicants for 300 vacancies at a Bangkok hotel By The Nation Over 8,000 jobless people and new graduates turned up to apply for 300 jobs at Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok's Lak Si district on Sunday (August 16) from 8am to 5pm. The Miracle Group is recruiting 300 staff for various positions, including managers, with a monthly salary of at least Bt20,000 for the opening of Asawin Grand Convention Hotel at the beginning of next year. Seeing thousands of people come to apply for the job, the hotel's officials then decided to extend the period to allow them to submit their applications. Meanwhile, the officials told applicants that those who qualified in the first round would be informed by phone in September to schedule an interview. Applicants who came to apply for the job said that they had been treated well by the hotel, as after they submitted their application, the officials handed out a voucher for dining on the second storey of the hotel. The officials also served them steamed rice, stir-fried chicken and basil, fried egg, and stir-fried vegetables. The applicants said that the hotel understood the feelings of jobless people as even one meal helped reduce their expenses. Crusader
Wow! Just goes to show that the number of people looking for work really is high. Or, did the message go out from some of the first ones in that there was a free meal? Either way - a lot of people.
Popular Post Katipo
That was nice of them to provide a meal afterwards. Poor people having to queue up for so long. Must be quite disheartening seeing how many were there too.

A nice touch for the hotel to offer a meal for those who had come & stayed all day waiting for an interview. The only down-side is that in the photo op it was sad to see some people not wearing a face mask? Maybe the PM will ask the police to follow them, take names and make arrest warrants for breaking the emergency decree?

Turning up to an interview without protection shows a lack of basic qualities that they insist on staff having.

BKK is a capital city with millions and this comes down to just around 26 applicants per job. People are so easy to mislead by abusing media... geriatrickid
How times have changed. Until Covid19, hotels were unable to find staff with many jobs unfilled.
