A married couple who own a gold shop in the Pattaya area went to the Nong Prue police after they discovered they had fallen victim to a gang passing off silverware coated in real gold.

China's Lufax ties up with Thai bank for local online wealth management

BEIJING (Reuters) - Lufax, one of China's largest online wealth management platforms backed by Ping An Insurance Group, said its unit has formed an alliance with Kasikornbank <KBANK.BK> to set up an online wealth management platform in Thailand.

COVID-19 pummels Thai exports, tourism

BANGKOK (NNT) - The National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) has reported that the Thai economy contracted 12.2 percent in the second quarter of 2020 and is expected to see a 7.5 percent contraction for the entire year, as exports and tourism have been adversely affected by COVID-19 social restrictions, imposed worldwide. If the situation improves, there will be clear signs of economic recovery after the second half of 2021.

Interior Ministry: Local elections before year’s end

LONDON (Reuters) - Cases of type 1 diabetes among children in a small UK study almost doubled during the peak of Britain’s COVID-19 epidemic, suggesting a possible link between the two diseases that needs more investigation, scientists said on Tuesday.
