Udon Thani: Lucky escape for 19 passengers as "Gold Class" tour bus crashes

Rescue services were called on Saturday evening after a Nakhon Chai Air tour bus from Udon Thani to Bangkok crashed and overturned in the central ditch on the Mitraphap (Friendship) highway in Phasuk sub-district.

Thai July exports fall 11.37% year-on-year, smaller drop than forecast

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's exports in July dropped by a smaller-than-expected 11.37% from a year earlier, with the U.S. shipments jumping, while most markets remained under pressure from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the commerce ministry said on Monday.

Weekday company trips urged in bid to boost tourism sector

Thailand’s exports in July contracted 11.3 per cent compared to the same period last year while total contraction in the first seven months of 2020 was 7.7 per cent, Pimchanok Vonkorpon, the director-general of Trade Policy and Strategy Office, said.

Phuket’s ‘safe and sealed’ plan does nothing for the majority of the island’s hospitality sector

Damned if they do and damed if they don’t. Thailand is now taking a decisive step towards reopenits its borders to tourists with a pilot project in Phuket this October. The pilot precedes the annual high-season, and if successful, then will form the basis of a wider push for re-opening the country’s borders to the lucrative tourist market.

Police tell shopkeepers to identify ‘hungry’ thief

A shop owner in Phetchaburi province posted a security camera recording on Sunday (August 23) of her shop being burgled, with a comment saying that instead of doing their duty, the police have asked her to provide the first and last name of the thief.

Black man shot in back by police in Wisconsin city, governor says, curfew imposed

A Black man was hospitalized in a serious condition on Sunday evening after police in the U.S. state of Wisconsin shot him multiple times causing crowds to gather and demonstrate at the scene.

 

(Reuters) - Protests erupted in Kenosha in the U.S. state of Wisconsin after police shot an apparently unarmed Black man multiple times in the back, according to the state governor, prompting authorities to impose a curfew.

Nissan picks Thailand for its only production base in Asean
