Reduction in traffic accidents over holidays

Featured Replies

Twenty-one people died and 70 were injured in around 51 traffic accidents between Monday and Friday last week, according to a National Police Report. Deputy Director of Traffic Police Thai Vishal said yesterday accidents were caused by drink driving, speeding, negligence and vehicle malfunction, with drink driving being to blame for the majority of them.

However, he also said that speeding remains a major problem. The report noted a decline compared to the holidays last year, which saw around 109 traffic accidents, causing 52 fatalities, injuring 183.

Speaking in an interview, Vishal said his department had cooperated with National Police across various campaigns, educating people about road safety and traffic signs as well as manning the roads over the holiday period to manage traffic and reduce accidents.

Wow... the announcement to restrict drivers licences for those with congenital conditions and the requirement for ‘special training’ and a specific licence for ‘big bikes’ has clearly worked.....   :coffee1:

Should people who drive on road already know traffic signs!? Hmmm... not normal in here that teatch traffic signs before you start driving in roads!

Are the Cambodians planning that as well??

????????????

Education?

What's to learn?

If you drive like a fool you will eventually kill yourself and/or others.

It's very simple to understand and apparently impossible to prevent.

Where there is no will there is no way.

I know that the population of Cambodia is only a quarter of Thailand, but those figures, even multiplied by 4 over a 5 day holiday period could only be dreams in Thailand.
