Honda Cbr150

Part of the announcements today at the Thai Honda Dealers conference is 7 'new' models, including a 'new model' CBR150. The only thing 'new' about it is the graphics seemed to have been changed slightly. The most interesting model is a CRF250L, wonder what the price will be?

It seems they will concentrate on inserting the 125cc engine into other bikes, instead of the 150cc

Honda India has announced several new models for its market including the CBR150. Correct me if i am wrong but i don't think the Fi model was available there last year. I wonder if we'll see more mods coming via India, or if Honda will make the CBR150 a world-wide model eventually?

Not quite. On the first pic showing an all white one, the previous was tricolor (see below), so they've dropped the red & blue and gone all white, with a different sticker on the front.

The white one has the same look as the latest fireblade, all white with red and blue decals. Red and black look almost the same as last year's model. I'm surprised they didn't go for the silver and orange combo that the 125 has.

If the 150 becomes a world-wide model it would be good news for us owners, since more aftermarket parts will be made available.

As far as i know it was only available in the Thai, Indonesia and Philippine markets. So now we can add India to the list.

And possibly either the US or Australia, as Honda just did a new commercial featuring 150 with Casey Stoner, who is Australian. As stated above, that would be good as then more aftermarket parts would be available.

Don't know where that Stoner ad was supposed to be shown; it was filmed around August 2011 and looks like Malaysia but Malaysia doesn't have the 150. If they were gonna do some new markets surely they'd use the 2012 model with the all new go faster stickers! biggrin.png

As for the Integra more info on the World Honda site

Looking at the figures from the DLT for bikes registered last year. They only have figures for under 100cc, 101-125cc, 126-150cc and '151cc and over'. So i guess, at least for 2011, it is only the CBR150 in the 126-150cc section and the CBR250 in the over 150cc section.

Drum roll please!!

CBR150 9,327

CBR250 5,426

Kawasaki 3,548 over 150cc

Yamaha 130 over 150cc

Ducati 270

Harley 235

BMW 186

Suzuki 13 over 150cc

Triumph 112

A total of 11,010 bikes over 150cc were registered. The total number of bikes registered in Thailand in 2011 was just over 2 million (2,001,044) of which 1.3 million were Hondas in the 101-125cc division.

The most intersting fact by far (besides the fact that the CBR150 out sold the CBR250 by nearly 2 to 1) is that there is a bike brand called Penguin! They didn't register any bikes.

For the 150 that would be 9,000 to the moneylenders muscle and 327 for every one else

already out, the dealer on wulai (close to Smith Residence)had the new red one parked out front last week.

Ok. I'll swing by dealer here in CM today and check and see if they have yet.

Here's a pic of the red bike close to Smith Residence, not actually on Wulaii, but the road that 'y's off of it. The one next to it i think is a used bike, the grey and red seemed to work well together. Maybe the red came out first???

The red one is still the 2011 model.

Anyways, I just found some scratches on my exhaust guard (probably some retard put it there parking too close to the bike at Tesco or somewhere - it's not noticeable until you get up close to the bike), was thinking of repainting it with heat resisitant black paint, but it might be a wasted effort if I go through putting on an aftermarket exhaust. So anyone know some place in Chiang Mai where you can get a good one? Recommendations?

Initially I was thinking of asking a friend from Indonesia to get me an inconspicous R9 model (something that doesn't scream free 500B to the local BiBs), but for several reasons I decided not to.

Went by Honday in CM. Only have 2 of the red/silver models from last year. Don't know when new ones will be in. Mee says March/April for the 400, but not sure about 600.

Brian...

I'm more interested in the 400, now that I know it's coming. Even had a Kawasaki dealer tell me the CBR 400 would be here in March/April. Wife and I both want to see it, AND the 600 if that also comes. She got totally sold on a bigger bike when she saw a new Ninja 650 yesterday and blurted out: "That's what you need!" I just smiled and nodded. clap2.gif

But we both agree not to do anything till the CBR 400 arrives. Love the Ninja 650 (had one back in the States), and love the CBR 600, but think the 400 would, overall, be the best bike for my purposes. But wife said if the price difference between the CBR 400 and Ninja 650 is less than 20k, she'd rather I have the Ninja. So now it's just a waiting game for a couple of more months. Until then, I'm happy with my tri-color 150. cowboy.gif
