Non-O marriage visa 60 day extension expired yesterday, am i on amnesty?

Featured Replies

Hi

I had a 12 month non-O visa extension, then I got a 60 day extension which ended yesterday

I am worried that I am now on overstay or do I have a few weeks to sort a new 12 month extension due to the amnesty?

Thanks

You are not on overstay as the amnesty covers you until Sept 26th...but some offices are refusing to do extensions for people whose permissions have expired ...you might want to check with your local IO before the 26th to make sure you can

Yes, you are on amnesty that is set to end on 26 sept.

OP, why did you let your annual extension run out and not obtain new 12 month extension?

Could it be a Financial Reason Dr.Jack ??

if 60 days ago there was the amnesty as well why did you go for the 60 days extension?

There's a similar topic running here:

OP was told to leave the country on September 27

Seems every Immigration Office is free to interpret the Amnesty rules anyway they like ????

Just go to the office and get it sorted out.

Sooner the better.
