THAI operating 18 flights to fly out foreigners or Thais wanting to go abroad

26th September is hunting season for the immigration.

You will be arrested, detained, deported and blacklisted. (those without a legal proper visa status of course).

With the lack of foreigners in typical tourist areas I'm prepared to be questioned (interrogated) after 26th September although my entry is valid until next May. Farangs are scarce on the ground already and will be an easy target soon. Not worth taking a chance of overstaying.

I have just booked on one of the October flights out (free rebooking due to previous cancellations). Seat map on Thai Airways website shows just 6 seats taken from BKK to LHR (except for the usually blocked exit row seats). Not sure when I'll be able to come back. Hopefully in January but not surprised if later than March.

This could seriously backfire on thailand and their testing and figures if many of those stranded travellers test positive on return from thailand

  • Thai are not operating 18 flights to fly out foreigners, they are operating 18 flights because there are still thousands of Thais trying to get back. Its only now they've realised they can sell seats

It's never been an excuse...there have always been flights out of the country during the pandemic.
