steffi
Got caught in the rain today with a very expensive phone in my pocket so can anybody tell me the best place to buy Ziplock bags? Preferably in assorted sizes. The kind that are essentially water proof, at least for falling rain.

DirkGently
You may not belive me, but it is true. The enchanted land they call Tesco sells such wonderful items. Only those who dare to dream could ever imagine where to buy plastic bags with a sort of zip.

qualtrough
You can do much better by going down to Ta Rachawong Street in Yawwarat (Chinatown). That is the plastic bag center of BKK. You can buy any size or thickness of poly bag there at about 12 different stores. Cost is something like 100 B per kilo, which is quite a few bags, but you can probably buy smaller amounts. You can find bags sturdier than the food bags available at grocery stores.
