Featured Replies

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand has committed to providing another five years of educational development funding and higher education scholarships to two partner institutions in Cambodia. The signing ceremony came yesterday at the Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok and was attended by the Ambassador of Cambodia to Thailand Ouk Sophoan – who was present on behalf of education minister Hang Chuon Naron – and Thai foreign minister Don Pramatwinai.

The two institutions set to continue receiving the funding – which will begin this month and conclude in September 2025 – are Kampong Chheuteal Institute of Technology and Kampong Speu Institute of Technology.

Rector of the Kampong Chheuteal Institute of Technology Pich Peang said: “The aim of additional development funding comes in a bid to enhance educational capacity in Cambodia and demonstrate effective cooperation with the public and private sector between the two countries.” Peang said since his institute began receiving funding some five years ago, he has observed a noticeable improvement in operations.
