paveet
Hi there. I'm looking to purchase the iPod shuffle 2nd Gen (the colourful small 1GB clippy ones). However, I do care about the sound quality. I use the Shure E4C sound isolating earphones and love them. Does anybody own the 2nd gen shuffle and has any words about the sound quality? How does it compare with its bigger brothers such as the iPod Nano or the full size ipod? I've previously used the 4G ipod and find the sound quality acceptable. Any words on how this compares to the Nokia N73 Music Edition also? Thanks! Pavee

Simmo
My girlfriends got a 1GB Shuffle. Sounds the same to a Nano to me , but that's with the crappy included airbuds.
cdnvic
I tested a bunch out recently. The Shuffle was every bit as good for sound as the other iPods, but the Sansa and the Zen seemed a bit better.

cdnvic
wat were included in that bunch? Thanks Shuffle, 8gb Nano, 30gb vid, Zen Vision, Sansa 2gb, Lyra 4gb. Sansa gets my pick for price/performance value. I hate that there's no screen on the Shuffle to flip through menus, check battery power or anything. Grover
the 2nd Gen nano has got very good sound quality. I am reasonably sure it is on par with the new shuffle. I can pick up faint hiss with my ER4ps but minimal. You will notice on audiophile forums, most members have chosen ipods of some description (paired up with a good set of headphones) for their portable rig.
