Permit To Drive A Boat

I was thinking of buying a boat to do a spot of fishing out of Pattaya and I was wondering if any sort of permit or driving licence was required and if so how do I obtain one. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking into this too. I have a small 4meter rib with a 25hp on the back. From what i have found on the web you would need a Helmsman Level 2.

I looked into tis a couple of years ago and found that Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Jomtien run courses resulting in getting a boat licence. For your purpose it seems their 2 day course would suffice. https://www.sailingschoolthailand.com/power-boat-courses/
