Just a quickie chaps,

Sep 26th is looming. I'm on a non-0, which usually I'd be going to Laos or Vietnam to get a new one, but because that will be a ball-ache with closed borders, I'm off to Chaengwattana to get a 2 month extension, which I have been informed I can do...

Firstly... Am I able to actually do that?

Secondly, do I have to drag the missus down there too?

Thirdly, what documents do I need?

Lastly, how much is it to do?

Thanks buddies.

I assume you mean a 60 day extension to visit you wife. She has to be with you when you apply.

You will need your marriage certificate and a copy of it. Copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.

The fee is the standard 1900 baht fee for all extensions.

You will have to do the application at the Muang Thong Thani office and you will need an appointment to do it.

Well I THINK it's booked. I was expecting an email or sms but have received neither but assuming it's booked as I filled in the form and submitted it yesterday.

What happens once those 60 days are up?

Presuming there is no further amnesty, what do we do after 60 days?

If your visa extension expires you need to meet the requirements for a new visa (takes time) or leave.

Some offices have given out a 2nd 60-days.  Not something to assume will be available, though, unless an official announcement is made.

Well I successfully got my 2 month extension. Made an appointment at Muang Thong Thani, only to be told when I arrived there that I had to go to Chaengwatthana for the non o extension. So another taxi ride, got there late and didn't get home until 6pm because of the immense queues.

Good information for those in Bangkok.

That's the question the OP should be asking. He now has an extension. He needs to prepare financials in order to obtain an annual extension based on marriage.

The easiest way is to have 400k in Thai bank in his name only. He will not be obtaining a non-o as he entered Thailand on a non-o (ME).

The issue is the money in bank needs to be seasoned for 2 months.

He needs to organize that asap.

They apparently have changed ti back Chaeng Wattana. Before they were turning people away and were telling them to do it at MTT and I have seen reports of them being done there.
