Prayut Chan-o-cha

Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Thursday (September 17) that he has allocated time next month to consider candidates for the finance minister's post.

When asked if the candidates named in media recently had been chosen by him, the premier asked if he had not told the press earlier that all contenders were selected by him.

Prayut said all the contenders were capable people and that a new minister will be named once he makes a decision and if they are willing to take the job.

Finance permanent secretary Prasong Poontaneat is believed to be one of the leading candidates. He was apparently added to the list because he has experience in politics and also because the premier likes his style of working.

The Hero General has demonstrated his all-inclusive expertise, extraordinary versatility and economic wizardry countless times…..why doesn’t he just appoint himself?

He looks ill.

Poisoned chalice if ever there was one!

Looks like it will take a couple of weeks to find somebody stupid enough to do it, not ordinarily a problem but then again this is an absolutely ginockapod no win role, maybe it needs brown envelopes sent from general Pinocchio for a change...

Looks like BIG brown envelopes going the opposite way this time, as nobody wants involved with it, so he will have to bribe someone into doing the job.

My guess its gonna be a male with a  trimmed hairstyle over 70 years of age.

I suspect (no proof) the last guy (from K Bank) was warned off and quickly resigned.

So is there a powerful 'force' afoot to ensure the right politically coloured man (or lady) gets the job?

So worried about the anti-government protests yet can't do his own job (that he appointed himself to) and get a new Finance Minister.

At least do something useful in this time and get the "Boss" / Justice ordeal cleaned up by putting the rightful people convicted.

Meanwhile the economy is slipping further down the crapper, and investment is at a virtual standstill.

And the best tourism plan to save the economy is 300 visitors per month.

Time he vacated his office if this is the best he can do.

I think they are trying to plug the holes in the countries chest of billions, and refill it with golden covered chocolate coins.

No rush P. I mean, it's not like there are any pressing issues to deal with right now.

Take your time. Let the peasants eat cake.

WATCH you talkin' about man?

It is going to take one mighty man to balance the books in Thailand. The trough might be dry

If dry it will be easy.  Choo Choo: How much we gots in the coffers  FM: Zero baht, but we will have the Zero Dollar tours restarting soon.  Choo Choo: Coolio, looks like a new pair of Ray Bans and a new Richard Mile for my fat little buddy is on the horizon.

Yes, we know. They are all capable people.

Just like sleepy Eddie Wristwatch.

In other countries he would be accompanied on a permanent base so he does not get lost.

Whoever gets the job will have to practice saying where has that gone 24 times a day ????

Or better yet, "Why are the Brown A4 envelopes empty".

I just can't wait for October......Christmas is coming early this year.

Sure, but somehow I suspect it's not that easy.

Already it seems there's around 20 senior cops involved. Corruption has tentacles spreading everywhere, so what's the total number of senior and other cops and politicians and bureaucrats involved? Hundreds?

Is he waiting for someone to receive their degree, or the need to tidy up someone's past first?

Indecision and delay are the parents of failure.
