Crackdown on counterfeit products

Featured Replies

A senior official from the Ministry of Interior has announced that the Cambodian Counter Counterfeit Committee (CCCC) has seized 530 tonnes of counterfeit and fake products so far this year.

President of the CCCC, Lieutenant General Meach Sophana, said at a press conference on Tuesday that since January 2020 the ministry has found counterfeit, expired and illegal products such as cigars, electronic cigarettes, beverages, medicines and other products in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey and some other provinces.

He said CCCC officials have also cooperated with relevant authorities and original product owners to search for sources of counterfeit products online to take legal action against the sellers. “The salesmen use social media and online platforms to sell products, but they lie about their product’s quality. They take the opportunity to sell fake products online,” he said.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

If that happened here there would be another couple of million out of work.

It's the only way they can make money, what do you want them to do start selling drugs?
