Back at ya. Research has shown that wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands frequently is the most effective way of reducing the spread of Covid. A large crowd of covidiots being dicks is the best way to increase the spread of covid.

Research has been inconsistent at best.  Contradictory as well.  You can find research to support any viewpoint you wish.

That's if there is any covid-19 in that area to spread, that is what the problem is currently about, false positive tests and infectious vs non infectious cases. Just wearing masks for no reason and crashing economies will not do anyone any good, this situation is not going away anytime soon.

The increase in county flags & decrease of the ???????? in favour of the ???????????????????????????? was pretty telling too. People have seen through it and have had enough.

Agree totally. Organised by the extreme right white supremacists, English Democrats and the like. I'm surprised they weren't throwing a few "Seig Heils" about. i'll bet Tommy was there.

Should it be let to follow its course with stats like these?

Total cases - 32.6M

Recovered - 22.5M
Deaths - 990K

990K deaths of people from Covid, or 990K deaths of people with Covid.

Because I'm going to die with a pimple on my butt.  Pretty much guaranteed.  But I'm not going to die from it.

LOL.  Thanks, tribalfusion001.  I didn't want to be the first to sound conspiratorial, though I did strongly suggest it.  To my mind there's certainly more here than meets the eye.  Sinister is the word that comes to my mind.  For instance, there seems to be no rational reason (though I'm sure many will disagree . . . but that's O.K.) why a particular potential drug would be pushed so hard against.

A vaccine for a virus that most people don't get ill from or have even contracted. It's not a conspiracy, AstraZeneca already have 3 billion doses preordered and GSK sold 300 million doses to the EU.

I'm not anti vaccine, but it has to be thoroughly tested and proved to why we need it, neither has been done so far.

There is a good reason to wear masks, you've been told and told again.

Yesterday's protest were all races, all religions and all colours, not far right. In fact I would say most were liberals in nature, all the one's I talked to were and normal people.

Both have been done you just completely refuse to listen.

Then if you were aware why no mention of those other aspects?  The whole must be considered, not just a portion.  Tyranny is a strong word but it's fitting in my opinion.  Perhaps authoritarianism sounds gentler.

Sorry if you took exception to my equating single mindedness with simple mindedness.  It was not meant to refer to you specifically but was made as a general point to illustrate how a narrow focus can lead one to not see the forest for the trees.  It's an apt idiom in the case of many of the opinions expressed about Covid lockdowns, again in my opinion.  But apologies nonetheless.

Fair enough.  I probably shouldn't have used the word idiots in my initial post either. It's too easy to become ad-hominem in discussions these days with such emotive issues.

You wasn't there, so you have no opinion on the matter. And you don't need to wear masks in the open air.

I do have an opinion on the matter which I've been happy to share with you. Masks do need to be worn outside if insufficient social distancing is being practiced, which is why the covidiots got moved on by the police.

It would be ridiculous to suggest that those numbers can be projected in a straight line into the future.  That would represent the ultimate simplistic model.  As with climate change, too many working parts in play.  To assume you've accounted for them all would be utter folly and hubris.  An obvious lack of faith in mankind and his potentials on display, let alone understanding.

It would be ridiculous to argue with you on this.

Each to his own.

Unfortunately, with callous disregard and simplistic theories some people endanger others lives. Voluntary suicide is OK on this free and democratic world, I guess...

Preplanned economic collapse, The Great Reset, that is my theory and others are thinking the same. That's why the German doctor was arrested yesterday, the internet chatter on YouTube about his arrest is quite fiery language. I thought yesterday was more like a revolutionary movement that is gathering momentum, ordinary people that need to protest about virus control measures and a government that is corrupt. Mostly hand made placards, not much organisation, but raw energy and uniting people.

The presence of David Ike clinched it.

I was there yesterday, the media is protraying it as thugs and conspiracy theorists, that is far from the truth. There was all races, all religions, all political beliefs who had come together against these virus control measures. The police said it was lawful first of all and at 2.15pm decided it was illegal, then the riot police came in with batons hitting people. The speaker told everyone to sit down to stop the riot police hitting people, this is what it's come to in the UK, police pushing middle aged women over and threatening people with batons.

The protest then moved to Hyde Park and more riot police were, mounted officers and a few scuffles when the police arrested a couple of people. The situation calmed down and the police engaged with the crowd to leave as it was an illegal gathering. There said we couldn't even walk in a public park and had to leave or face arrest.

The next point is very interesting, Piers Corbyn and David Icke were both allowed to speak but when a German doctor named Dr Heiko Schoning came on at around 2.45pm he spoke for about 2 minutes and then the riot police moved in. I was Hyde Park and saw the riot police forming up and then they charged surrounding a guy in a suit at Speakers Corner under a hut. I found out when I got home from YouTube that was Dr Heiko Schoning and there arrested him and he still being held now.

Dr Heiko Schoning is currently doing German parliamentary report into coronavirus, so he's not a quack doctor. He did do an interview with Anna Brees just before the protest started and he stated this was a Politcal Pandemic not a medical pandemic and linked this with The Great Reset which is an idea formed by the WEF at Davos this year, you can check this out, it's all true.

Taiwan handled it best.  I believe they never had any lock downs.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Only 7 total deaths in a population of 2.5 million.

Taiwan got a rather disciplined public. One that's not into the nonsense exhibited in the OP. So yes, if the public plays along less restrictions are possible.

These demos are a significant sign that "the silent majority" in many countries are beginning to wake up to what is being done to their jurisdictions, whether in the UK, France, Hungary, various American states and so on.  For too long, those opposed to the totalitarian stuff that's being flung in their faces have taken it 'lying down".

They have suffered silently while morons in Extinction Rubbish bring cities to a standstill. Now is the time for those on the sidelines to step forward and show their own strength.

How many innocent people have died by COVID?

Would their loved ones agree with your idea?

Thanks for that post.  Throughout this pandemic I've questioned the legitimacy of official numbers, whether deaths or cases or test results.  There's so much obvious chicanery afoot with this pandemic.  Politics. money and power no doubt play their roles.  Way too many stories pointing out inconsistencies and outright fraud to be found.

Yeah, but then you often seem to believe in some sort of one conspiracy theory or the other. All of what you have posted above would be the norm for a crisis - partial information, evolving situation, new facts coming to light, possible theories being discarded etc. You point of view seems to assume one of two - either the government knows all details and misleads the people, or the government doesn't know what's going on but takes advantage of the situation in order to further nefarious goals.

The simpler, more down to earth, explanation is that they aren't infallible, that not everything got an easy answer or a handy solution, that governments operate under conditions of partial information and political realities.

That's how research is. At least until the subject matter is better understood. It is only due to the nature of the crisis that the nature of the beast is painted as an issue. And no, you cannot find credible research to support "any viewpoint you wish".

Perhaps taking responsibility for the impact on one’s own actions upon others is a reason to follow guidelines, fear need play no part.

It's pointless debating with people who have different views on covid-19 control measures I found that out last week, 4 against 1 in a pub. It's better to find like minded people and let the sheep go baa baa baa

Yeah, so why don't you head to your echo chamber, were there's no Covid, and no masks need to be worn.

4 hours ago, Moonlover said:

Yes, I believe it should. 990K deaths is only 0.0127% of the population. A mere pinprick. And how many of those who died were on the way out anyway, due to age or other illness's?

Well... so all the people 'on their way out' is good to be kicked out to their destination asap? Would you enjoy to be in that situation?

Simply I don't agree with your logic... never!
