Sawang Kitchen

Featured Replies

A couple of years ago we went to Bangkok's largest restaurant, an undercover series of connecting dining rooms that can serve several thousand people at the same time.

Yesterday we made another visit to the restaurant. It is called "Sawang Kitchen" and it is located by the shore at the south edge of Bangkok. It only serves Thai food and I think that I was the only farang eating there.

It is inexpensive and the food is excellent. But, you pretty much have to drive there. Parking is plentiful.

It is a very cool place. Lots of things to do besides eating.

Wow... that looks good, especially the seafood platter!! any chance of posting the exact address in English... the only other reference I can find to this place is here http://www.corkscrew-balloon.com/05/11/1bkk/27a.html ans that says it's 56 Kms from BKK

That's funny....the reference you site is my web page from November '05 when I last visited it.

Anyway, the phone # is 02 849 3191

And the address is: 94/9-12, M10, Bangkuntein, 10150.

I suggest you call for directions (using a Thai speaker). It is 56km from our Bangkok home. But. it is well worth the trip as you can spend hours there. Even Karoke and rides for kids.

You will enjoy it.

What a co-incidence!!... I'll do as suggested, thanks

Are you in Thailand (Bangkok) now?

I always thought the Royal Dragon was the largest. But what do I know. Maybe I have my skates on backwards.

Not yet.... arriving on the evening Etihad on Friday 4th, staying in BKK with a visit to Ko Samet if the weather holds up and maybe to Phuket as well. Back to the UK on 20th
