jingjai9
Does anyone know for a fact, with empirical evidence, if Thai private schools at the Primary and Secondary levels receive subsidies from the Thai government for foreign teachers on their staff, school supplies, or any other kind of general support? I am not sure where to find this information in public records. Thank you
DavisH
I recall years ago our ex-directior said they got nothing from the government for our private school. Ive certainly never heard of the school getting money per foreign teacher - and that is over 20 years. I have no hard proof of that, as you ask, though. We also don't get government health insurance / social secirity, either.
Big Guns
I know that both private & international schools are exempt from corporation tax. With that major benefit as well as removing the requirement to pay for social security contributions for all teachers, I would have thought that subsidies would be unlikely.
