Is today another no alcohol day?

Hi all, 

 

I just went to the seven eleven down the street to buy some booze. They said they couldn't sell alcohol today because today is another 'no alcohol day because of important religious holiday'. I was under the impression that this buddhist holiday was yesterday? Anyone else with the same experience?
