No, Sunbelt Software has been around since 1984, based in Florida. Almost a decade before Sunbelt, the business brokerage started selling franchises. Sunbelt, as a business broker, was founded in 1978 in South Carolina and was a small operation until the 90s.

There are many companies out there with the word "Sunbelt" in their name. It's a common term used to describe the southern USA.
