AirBnB in Thailand: Hosts told to make their premises Covid secure or face cut-off

AirBnB hosts in Thailand have received an email from the American located organization saying that they must make their premises Covid-19 secure or face being unable to accept guests. 

 

Hosts will have to wear protection and practice social distancing and follow the company's "five point plan" for cleanliness.

 

They must comply by November 20th of face being cut-off. 

 

Thaivisa notes that following a slow beginning to the company's operations in Thailand at the start of the 2010s there are now many thousands of listings.

 

Many people have used the platform to hire out empty condo rooms and there have been mini-rebellions at some blocks where particularly Chinese visitors were arriving in large numbers contrary to juristic person regulations.

 

The text of the email is as follows: 

 

Coming together for the health of our community

As the pandemic continues, it’s important that we all do our part to help protect one another from COVID-19. With this in mind, we’re launching mandatory safety practices that everyone in the Airbnb community must follow. For hosts, this means wearing a mask, practising social distancing, and following Airbnb’s 5-step enhanced cleaning process.

All hosts are required to agree to these COVID-19 safety practices by 20 November 2020. Hosts who don’t fulfil this requirement before the deadline may be unable to accept new reservations.

And how do they propose to check that on a daily basis?

Isn't AirBnB illegal in Thailand? Can't rent for less than a month; complaints from hoteliers etc?

Many things are illegal here, ignoring stop signs at railway crossings, prostitution, breaking speed limits, military coups, etc. 

 

Laws are usually ignored.

especially when it concerns expats burning other expats..

Yeah right I can see somchai the deposit stealer implementing a 5 point plan not! 

 

No way thais will comply and Air Bnb can not afford to to shutdown anybody 

Just logged on to the app as a host, found the covid section and started the 5 page slide show out lining what needs to be done. At the end I had to agree to implement and that was that all over and now I'm covid safe.

Your're right me to and I added condoms to the list so now im a superhost
