BANGKOK (NNT) - The Comptroller General’s Department today deposited an additional 200 baht in the accounts of persons with disabilities aged 18 years or older who are holders of state welfare cards, effectively increasing the monthly welfare payment to 1,000 baht from now on.

Following a Cabinet resolution to increase monthly welfare for persons with disabilities from October onwards, the Comptroller General’s Department has started depositing the new amount in the accounts of persons with disabilities who hold a state welfare card.

Starting this month, persons with disabilities who are younger than 18-years-old will receive 1,000 baht welfare deposited in their bank account every month, an increase on the previous rate of 800 baht, while persons with disabilities who are 18-years-old and older will receive 800 baht deposited to their bank account, plus a 200 baht monthly allowance credited to their state welfare card.

The Comptroller General’s Department deposited the monthly welfare in eligible persons’ bank accounts on 9th October, while the 200 baht credit per person is available on their state welfare cards as of today. This credit can also be withdrawn as cash.

The monthly welfare for persons with disabilities is deposited on the 10th of every month. Inquiries can be made at the Comptroller General’s Department by calling 02 270 6400 in official working hours.

I work with people with dual diagnosis in Canada (any age, could be a 1 year old or a 99 year old). This is such a small amount. Do they have any other support from the government or local agencies? I've been wanting to move to Thailand for quite some time, but that is such a little amount to help someone out with activities of daily living.

The Army General and his regime are trying to buy the 'POOR' Thai favor/votes same as Taksin did some years ago.....

In Thailand that 'Can be done'...... T...I...T...
