Hello all.

Does anyone know if the Thai banks or exchanges are still accepting the UK 20 Pound papernotes?

I know the new polymer note came out at the beginning of the year but at least in the UK the papernote is still legal tender.

I can't can't speak for every currency exchange, but the general rule is that they will only accept the current series of notes.

If it's just one note then one option is to exchange it with someone heading back to the UK at some point.

Correct, but as you say not all exchanges follow the rules.

We bought some Yuan from Superich but when we tried to deposit it at an ICBC branch here in Thailand some were rejected as an old series.

From then on we always ensured notes were the current series which didn't go down well with exchangers.
