May 3, 200719 yr I need to go to Suan Phlu within the next few days to extend my tourist visa. I'd planned to go tomorrow, but realized it may be a holiday. After a Google search I found the following holidays: Coronation Day (Saturday, May 5) The Royal Ploughing Ceremony (Tuesday, May 8) But does anyone know when the substitution days are, and when immigration is closed? Thanks for any replies.
May 3, 200719 yr I am on my way to the big office in Chiang Mai in about ten minutes, so I'll ask when I'm there and try to report back in about two hours.
May 3, 200719 yr The 7th should be the substitution day but believe Immigration works half day Saturdays so not sure if they will take both off or not.
May 3, 200719 yr Author The 7th should be the substitution day but believe Immigration works half day Saturdays so not sure if they will take both off or not. Thanks PB and Lopburi. So it should be open tomorrow then?

Just missed you PB, was there yesterday morning for my work extension. It was a full house for some reason with at least 50 people there. They will be open on Friday.
May 3, 200719 yr Reporting back now at the two-hour point, I'm sorry to say I forgot. I could blame it either on a senior moment, or ADD, because Rasseru found me. We talked, and I met his charming wife. Anyway, it was so mobbed at my first attempt around 10:30 that I could not find a parking place! Came back at 11 and barely managed to find a place. Speaking of hours, the Thai Airways main ticket office in Chiang Mai is open 7 days per week! However, I didn't go on Tuesday because it was Labor Day everywhere except in the USA.
