Do you remember what you were doing 4 years ago right now?

Featured Replies

I had not long been divorced and was in an hotel near the Chiang Mai moat. I was watching the US election on Fox- they didn't have CNN or BBC- and thinking that the pussy tapes had sunk Trump's chances.

So I can remember exactly what I was doing 4 years ago, and I'm doing the same thing tonight/ tomorrow- different time zone.

I was at work and had the New York Times site open. It had a dial as to who should win  and it was pointing to Clinton. I had a spring in my step. Then, as time went by, the dial started to turn..now it's level..now it's towards Trump. Then on the way home..Trump has won. I was ready to watch the Late Show with Stephen Colbert but couldn't. This joke wasn't funny.

I hope this helps prepare Trump supporters for the day ahead tomorrow..

I had finished my repatriation process back to my home country after having lived in Thailand for 5 years non stop. Some friends threw me a welcome back party. Everybody quite sure that the US would have it's first female president. Ah well.......

BTW: Reasons for repatriating: I got the impression that conditions for "long-stay" in Thailand are getting more cumbersome instead of easier. AND: The Health-Insurance issue started to creep up on me. Came to the conclusion that Thailand is "no country for old Farangs".

Had a great plan: Visit Thailand frequently as a tourist. And then the Virus came......
Now I wonder what will come first. Thailand or the local cemetary.

Easy....hiding under my bed and praying that Trump NEVER gets to the high office.....????????????

I think I'll skip the sugar in my coffee today, more than enough saccharine on TV.

Not really, I tend to look forward, not back.

You're early today, trying to drag me off topic. Maybe, if I get my taste buds removed.

4 years ago, my guess is you were doing exactly what you are doing now. Agent provocateur.

I remember being incredulous that US voters could be that stupid, then I thought about the alternative candidate and on that day, I gave up on politics.  Nothing has changed 4 years later, a choice between dumb and dumber.

Saw the election results and called my daughter. I was extremely surprised that hrc had lost. My daughter was in shock and tears. That was when I learned she was a snowflake and really knew little about how the US government works (even though she was an honors student raised in Texas [1-8 grade] and Illinois [high school & college]).  Then I was sad...

Hoping my country would not become a 3rd world sh*thole with 100s of thousands dead due to negligence..

Thanks Mr Trump......(sent from the out of control dumpster fire)    national guard on standby-WH locked down

Can't recall...but based on statistics and probability I have a good idea.

Other than breathing, cant say I remember.

I'll ask my missus if I was in the smelly brown stuff or not,   :hit-the-fan:when she returns from giving the cc a work out  :whistling:

I was over the dark side (East Pattaya) having a beer and lunch with friends as per a usual Saturday.

Shaking my head at the US election. The 5th President of the USA not elected by the popular vote of the citizens. This one a disaster to the hopes and promise of the founders that the citizens are capable of governing themselves. I look to the democratic socialist countries of Scandinavia to present a more sustainable model of democracy.

In bed with 2 Thai ladies, my Mai Noi's. lol

The Scandinavian model, is only possible if the people want it! And I must say, I have been lucky to grow up there and nowhere else!

watching the last US election
with bets placed both ways and all my stake already returned
sat there watching while i was in a WIN WIN situation

Was a good day.????

As Luck would have it a Facebook memory popped up a couple hours ago.  So I “remember “ traveling by train from Yangon to Bago, Myanmar.   Great trip indeed.

When I started this topic the election hadn't been called, but around now 4 years ago I must have been celebrating as it was called the same night, if I remember correctly.
