Hi

So I entered the country on Sept 14th and am coming to the end of the 90 day on my Non-O Marriage visa, and I see that they are currently allowing 60 day extensions on this visa.

Is there any new paper work we need to bring or is the process the same as the previous 30 day extension?

Thanks

OP, are you referring to 60 day extension to visit wife. Yes you can obtain that.

Do you intend to obtain annual extension at some point.

Can't see anything changing in 60 days.

If I'm just applying for the 60 day extension do I need all the paperwork such as marriage certificate/partners ID/taiben etc? Cos I was hoping it would be more like extending the tourist visa only requiring the form and copy of passport + TM7

I'm in the process of getting the 1 year marriage visa extension, but my bank account money dipped below 400,000 briefly for a few days in sept, and they said it needs to be above 400,000 for 2 months prior to the application so i have to wait.

OR you can show a minimum of 40K coming into your Thai bank account each month... You don't need 400k if you have been transferring money over here

Sounds like the 400k is not an issue. He slipped below that. After under consideration period and has stamp he can use the money.

Some offices tend to make it more difficult for income method.

Sure, the 400k method is a lot easier (for those of us with the patience to leave it alone - I'm not one of those!) Just thinking if he's short on time and sends over 40k each month, then printing out a bank statement in branch for 200 baht may do.

With the yellow bank, it's super easy. Done in-branch in under 10 minutes, and the International transfer code is 0000004; easily identifiable by IO. They don't care where you work or what you are doing, as long as the money comes from abroad. They could even be retirement funds.

Read the OP replies. He "slipped below 400k".

He can obtain 60 day extension to fix oversight.

Income method would require 2 months min from now. Silly idea.

Why would it require two months? You can print, stamp and sign a 6 or 12 month bank statement in branch, then go in and apply with the other documents he already has at the IO.

What are you on about. You choose to use income method. Great.

The OP indicated that he is using money in the bank method. BTW best option.

I'm going to be married soon myself so i'd like to know...i'll be applying shortly for a non o based on marriage and this was the method i thought would work for me... It would take 4 months for me to amass and stash 400k for two months, i have a lot of bills to pay lol! Thanks

Just thinking that if he HAS been tranferring over 40k each month, then he can do it now for 200 baht (printing costs) rather than paying 2000 for another extension and waiting 2 more months. Just an option for the OP to obtain the extension NOW.

Make sure you read the threads regarding the coding in bankbook with your international transfers. The transfers need to be shown to be coming from o/s. Many threads regarding this.

Your financial situation is yours.

The OP made it clear his 400k slipped below.

Clearly the money in bank is not an issue for him. The money only needs to be in bank 2 months prior to application + the under consideration period. After that it can be used.
