Good excuse to dodge the qeustions about the ongoing demonstrations , all his staff negative him positive and all being send back home . I geuss Anutin was present at the testing to give them the results and was instructed by our " good friend " Prayut . Why didn't Anutin bring the medicine to europe himself before they came over here , seems to be the thing he does . Bring it to them and bring your whole family and staff while doing it . Also must be his new " no day " quarantine he wants to be doing soon as non of them had to quarantine while arriving . To bad the outcome was 1 infected out of about 12, so i don't think that will be happening anytime soon .

We invite these guys over just to make sure that Thailand will have a pandemic sooner or later

What are they thinking about to let anyone come from a country devastated at present

Yes the country must isolate itself completely from people coming in,like Australia, New Zealand.

The report posted on "The Federal" website a lot of prior posters link to is fascinating.

"The Hungarian delegation was supposed to have a two-day visit aimed at strengthening ties, especially in economic matters."

That's a Hungarian Minister and his 12 person team of bureaucrats. Only fly in and out, no quarantine.

"On his one-day visit to Cambodia, ... he paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Hun Sen and held separate meetings with Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and the ministers of commerce and agriculture. In photos of their meetings, neither Szijjarto nor some of his hosts was wearing a face mask to guard against the coronavirus"

Again, no quarantine and it doesn't mention where he was before the Cambodia trip, but it does say -

"...he had tested negative before leaving last month for his Asian tour."

As the Cambodia section of his tour included opening a satellite office from the Embassy in Vietnam , I assume he went to Vietnam for some unspecified period of time as well. So we have a one man plague vector picked up in either Vietnam or Cambodia before it appeared on a test while entering Thailand. Nope, government officials don't need14 day quarantines.

There is no European Minister as Europe is no state or country with an elected government.

Does this person have a name?

Whatever gave you that idea?

Josep Borrell
High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

Unelected, of course.

Does he have a name? Surely, it's not a state secret.

Hungary's minister of foreign affairs and trade, Peter Szijjarto, tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Thailand for an official visit (Nov 4).

I read many comments demonstrate that many people here doesn't understand that a representative of an European country (Europe has many countries and he doesn't have to represent all of them...) is a diplomat and should not have the same  regard to the rule than his own population, even as a guest.

He is a representative and should have high level responsibilities. That is also why there is the word "diplomatic person" who is a very special important one for all his own area of concern (there: the area of concern his his own country and foreign affaire and relationship with owner they are visiting for this target).

What is so difficult to understand there ?

Sure, he doesn't have to rich a tourist visa and doesn't have to apply the same rules as long as he does his specific job. What's wrong there ? nothing.

So, when you pretend to have a life in a Kingdom country, people (tourist or expat or foreign workers or every body) have to understand what is the honor and the level of responsibilities and what does it implicate with. Nothing complicate to understand there.

I think that the idea there was to show that a representative was not care about some COVID tests before to come (but are we sure about this ? There is so many wrong positive tests... and Thailand doesn't test enough his own population to be sure about there own numbers for COVID cases infected and death people). So eventually, for owner country as for guest, to communicate on this is already a very bad start in term of diplomat concern for each other.

Why do ministers from proper elected governments take anything to do with an unelected "PM" who just bullied his way into taking over a country followed by a bunch of poorly educated tinpot soldiers who should have stayed in their barracks?

Because when he got on the plane he thought he was going to Taiwan, not Thailand.
