Yellow Tabien Baan Housebook

I am applying for a yellow housebook, partly because this will exempt me from future payment of the land and property tax on my condo.  Kata Karon tessabaan is clearly reluctant to issue the yellow book and so is presenting a series of bureaucratic obstacles.

 

May I ask if anyone has recent experience of obtaining a yellow book in Phuket, particularly Kata/Karon.

Delays happen because palm's are not greased. We are personal friends with a guy responsible for doing this . He sits on things for months if he does not get a bung.

The book usually cost around ฿100.  I don't think it would have any influence on taxes. fwiw Ive never paid tax on my condo after i purchased it.

In fact a yellow book is supposed to be FREE. It's the pink ID card that cost 60 baht.  If your tessabaan is reluctant to issue you with a yellow book lodge a complaint with The Department of Provincial Administration, they'll give the tessabaan a good kick up the rear and direct them to issue one.

      I could never understand WHY a house book is never automatically issued at the land office, when ever a house or condo is purchased. after all, this country is so obsessed with proof of residence. 

     Its ridiculous having to go through all the hoops to get one, and would make life so much easier for many.

     I'm sure foreigners would not object to the idea, so is it the Thais that screw up the system ????

WHY a house book is never automatically issued at the land office, when ever a house or condo is purchased.    Because being owner doesn't mean resident.....

I got my Yellow Book from the Kathu tessebaan without much problems ( and for free ) but it helped that my Thai wife helped with the explanations and translations etc.

The pink ID card costed me indeed 60 Baht but I had to explain to the boss why i needed a the ID card, The explanation that i could use it as a formal identification method did the trick. 

My wife was a little bit surprised that i only had to pay 60 Baht while she had to pay 10 Baht to replace her lost Thai ID card ????

Id vacation in Banglamung rent a room from someone with a blue book pay the 100 baht or so and get it in one day. Cancel it go back to the nightmare town and apply via transfer.

This all seems to be quite simple. Where I really struggle with - does this "Convenience Case Document Folder" really have to be in my name? ????
