The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, which manages Phuket International Airport, have informed Andaman News about the numbers of passengers in the first 3 months of the year, showing increases of between 22% in January, to 28% in March compared to the same months in 2006: The total numbers of arriving, departing and transit passengers were over half a million each month, ranging from almost 570,000 in January to 528,000 in March. These are the highest ever numbers at Phuket, supporting the just released hotel occupancy averages of 80-90% in the same months.

Meanwhile Krabi International Airport, under the Civil Aviation Department, also reported its quarterly figures, with even bigger increases over 2006: ranging from 127% in February, to 85% in March compared to the same months in 2006: The total numbers of passengers arriving and departing, with no transits, was over 88,000 in January and 92,000 in March.
