Thailand's immigration police announced the arrest of two Taiwanese men who had been sending fraudulent banking links to con people out of money. 

 

Using a Web SMS from China the pair had managed to get victims with similar phone numbers in Thailand to transfer funds to a bank account in the kingdom under the name of Laddawan.

This was all done under the guise of updating personal data following an SMS request.

 

Gao and Liang were arrested at a rented room in Sri Nakharin Soi 42, Prawet district. They were also on overstay. 

 

Their latest victim had lost 108,000 baht. Police in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi and Chiang Mai are also working on the case.
